The carbon steel is transformed under extreme heat and pressure, hardening and sealing the surface, reducing the chance of moisture buildup and rust. It's then cured with food-grade oils that condition the metal to further increase its rust resistance and create a naturally nonstick cooking surface right out of the box. It's coating-free, meaning you can use metal utensils to flip, press, and scrape without worry. It reaches temperatures over 260°C (500°F) and delivers even heat so food cooks uniformly across the entire cooktop. Plus, the Adjustable legs allow you to level the Slate™ tabletop iron on uneven surfaces, and the extendable stand (sold separately) makes it perfect for use at home, camping, caravanning, and more.
